Bleeding Charity
This is the first of the confrontations that make up the bulk of the book. Lost Souls are portrayed as ghosts, thin and insubstantial. They generally meet people they knew in life who are residents of Heaven. These residents are solid or Real and are sent to help ease the lost souls passage into “becoming real”… real enough to stay in Heaven.
In part 3, the Narrator watches an exchange between a lost soul or ghost he calls the Big Man and Real soul he knew.
(Note: I used delay and reverb to try to distinguish the voices apart. I’d love some feedback on whether it worked)

Lyrics:
Well I’m damned
I can’t believe it
It’s not right to see you here
Standing there so tall and proud
I ought clip you in the ear
If this was justice
You and I
would be the other way around
It should be me in the light
and you down here on the ground
If you only could forgive me
then you’d rise up off that ground
I was a good man
I was fair
I only took what was mine
and I always paid for all I got
And I always toed the line
I know I’m right
I know my rights
You can’t do this to me
I only came for what is mine
I don’t want no bleedin’ charity
Everything is here for the asking
Nothing here can be bought
Please take the Bleeding Charity
I don’t have to take that from you
You’re a murderer
I remember what you did
I remember what you were
You dare say that to me
I can’t believe the nerve
I’m here for what is mine
I want what I deserve
If we got what we deserve
then none of us would live
Please take the Bleeding Charity
I’d rather be damned
than go along with you
Please take the Bleeding Charity
