LINER NOTES

So in Hypnopaedia chat, Debs was struggling to find the motivation to write her weekly song #50. To that end, I agreed to write one at the same time - and PJ mentioned murder ballads. The rest, as they say...
LYRICS

Sweet Sarah Jane sat beneath the apple tree
And she, how could she know?
That she was in places where evil was sown
That she was in danger that no-one could show

Sweet Sarah Jane went with him that fateful day
And she, oh how she screamed
But there was nobody to hear her calling
Nobody to stop her from lifelessly falling
Oh sweet Sarah Jane

[Solo]

Sweet Sarah Jane she was never seen again
And her body was never found
For she was in places where evil was sown
And she was in danger no-one could have known
Poor sweet Sarah Jane

Honoured to be the first one to hear this, Dan! I can't believe how quickly you put it all together. It's wonderfully atmospheric and the vocals are top notch.

This is really good, Dan. I like that you manage to convey the murder without having to explicitly talk about how it happened. That's where I've fallen down with murder ballads. Good stuff.
